ON-LINE TICKET OUTLETS

A secure on-line ticketing system used by the retail outlets that allows the sale and printing of a ticket

The bus company assigns part of the ticket stock to the retail outlets, thus creating a ticket retail outlet stock.

To enter the client system the operator needs to enter his log-in nam and password and also the number of the first ticket to be printed.

When the ticket has been assigned and issued, Busweb TpL registers the allocation of the ticket an changes the status to 'sold'; everytime a ticket is issued the ticket number will automatically appear as sold.

Busweb TpL compares the ticket number entered by the retail operator with the one on the server, if the two numbers match the system allows the access otherwise it will deny it.

After completing printing the assigned ticket numbers, Busweb TpL will block the issueing of new tickets until the operator enters the first number of the new allotment and re-types the log in, password and ticket number; this process provides greater security as a a "blank" ticket without a number would not be excepted by the system.

In addition, there is another checking method utilised by the system but for security reasons we will not discuss its features here.

• Anti-forgery - A system based on an encryption algorithm of encryption that creates aunivocal barcode

• Printer control - A system that controls every event that occurs to the printer based on the file log.

• Monitoring of sales - Monitoring of sales data in real time
